It is known that if a person finds a clover with four leaves, it is considered a good omen, symbolizing the coming happiness and good luck. Apparently, such an idea arose from the fact that such a “version” of the plant is really quite rare. However, the reality is a little more optimistic than is commonly thought: in a recent study, experts found that the probability of finding a four-leafed plant is close to 1 x 5000.
But even then, it all depends on many factors, including the type of clover and the environment in which it grows. In some cases, the chances of finding it may even be higher.
Nevertheless, even with modern gene modification technologies such as CRISPR and major advances in agronomy, four-leaf clover remains practically elusive. Environmental conditions, weather, and soil quality are still too valid.
