Could we ever be oil?

Due to pressure and high temperatures, the plant material was converted into coal. Petroleum predominantly arises from similar processes that began in prehistoric ocean waters.

Fossil fuels are the result of hundreds of millions of years of specific and complex processes that led to the formation of the hydrocarbons we still use today.

It is extremely unlikely that humans will ever experience the same transformational processes that created fossil fuels.
