Actress Lindsay Lohan was “deeply hurt and disappointed” by a joke in the musical “Mean Girls,” her rep said this week.
The new version of “Mean Girls” debuted in the U.S. on Jan. 12. In one scene, rapper Megan Thee Stallion quoted one of the unflattering references about Lohan from the noughties.
“Mean Girls” screenwriter Tina Fey has not yet commented on the situation. The new version featured Engauri Rice, Renee Rapp, Christopher Briney and others. The movie topped the U.S. box office, earning $33.2 million over the holiday weekend. Especially for the musical, Lohan starred in a cameo role.
